Child Centred Play therapy
(CCPT)
Talking about problems can be challenging for children. They may lack the words to express their feelings or explain their behavior. They might not even recognize what they find difficult, let alone be able to explain it if asked. Play Therapy supports children to express themeselves though play. At the Play Therapy Centre, we utilise Integrative (holistic) Child Centered Play therapy approach which allows us to integrate the best theories and methods in therapy. These sessions aim to enhance a child’s ability to form healthy, resilient relationships and work through traumatic experiences that may be weighing on them.
Difficult emotions that are hard to express can make it challenging for children to learn in school or manage their feelings. By addressing these emotions through play, children can use stories or metaphors to communicate what they are experiencing. At the Play Therapy Centre in Dubai, we utilize an Integrative, Child-Centered Play Therapy approach, placing our clients at the heart of our care. Our Play Therapy rooms are equipped with toys and resources that adhere to standards set by Play Therapy International and are guided by Axline's principles. Axline's principles emphasize creating a safe, accepting environment where children feel free to express themselves without judgment. This approach allows children to explore their feelings and experiences at their own pace, fostering self-awareness, emotional growth, and resilience.
